The Top 10 Ways YOU can support the Visiting Scholar Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences

The Top 10 Ways YOU can support the Visiting Scholar Program

Education offers hope for the future. Here are the top 10 ways you can support the University of Bamenda Visiting Scholar Program (VSP) in the Faculty of Health Sciences!

Chose as many as you like…

  1. Share the information about the Visiting Scholar program with your social media networks. Send the links to your groups, and ask them to pass it on.
  2. Talk in person to people you know specifically about the VSP to get them involved. The VSP is a great way for scholars from around the world to make a contribution to educating Africa’s next generation.
  3. Write about the VSP program in your own blog, newsletter, or other media outlet.
  4. Contribute financially: Make a financial contribution to support the costs related to a specific visiting scholar. Your contribution can be general, or can be specific (e.g. transportation from the airport to the campus; running a workshop for students).
  5. Contribute a blog post: Are you a scholar or researcher who has engaged in a similar experience? Tell us about it in a guest post, and include how your lessons learned could help the new VSP at University of Bamenda.
  6. Contribute textbooks and other resources to the university. The school is always looking for more teaching resources!
  7. Tell us why the VSP is important: Are you a student or faculty member at U of Bamenda? A community member in the NWR? Send a message to the VSP organizers that can be posted to the blog. Give us specific statements about why you think this program is important. Scholars who are thinking about making this commitment want to know that their time and efforts will make a difference.
  8. Visit the blog once a month: This year we will have updates monthly, and probably more often. Check us out!
  9. Plan ahead: You are more likely to follow through on something you want to do if you make a commitment. If you can’t apply to the FSP in the next year, we are still interested in hearing from you. Let us know that you might be coming in a few years time so that we can include you in our growing community of scholars.
  10. AND OF COURSE – Make an application yourself! We guarantee you that it will be a unique – and probably life changing – experience.

Will this be your year to come to the University of Bamenda?

As the new year begins, the University of Bamenda Visiting Scholars program is looking forward to having many more applications. Many exciting activities are happening at the university, and we would love to hear your ideas about how you can be part of our team.
